A short call is spoken in Japanese. Choose what you should do. The sample calls below were written for this prototype; each airport replaces them with its own wording in the Supervisor tab.
Where each learner is stuck

This airport's word pack
Turn off words your station does not use, and add the ones it does. Export the pack as one file and send it to new staff before they arrive in Japan.
The gap this tool targets
Small base: 20 operators were in the "considering, not yet hiring" group that answered this question, so the airport-size split rests on a handful of answers. It is a signal, not a measurement.

Why self-study, and why small airports
The same MLIT report found that small and medium airports can usually hire only a few foreign staff at a time, so they cannot assign a dedicated trainer the way the large airports (Haneda, Narita, Kansai) can. Because ground-handling procedures differ by airline and airport, the report proposes reducing the Japanese-language part of the training load instead: online material that learners can study alone, and teaching material in やさしい日本語. RampTalk JP is built for that suggestion.

Where the starter words come from
The 24 starter words, readings and Japanese meanings are taken from the ground-handling glossary in MLIT's employer manual for Specified Skilled Workers (pp. 19, 22). The manual notes that the many technical terms slowed on-the-job learning, that procedures differ by airline and airport, and recommends visual materials and self-study. English meanings were added for this prototype.
